I believe that the beginning of my venture must begin with
cleaning and cleansing.
Before I may begin to change what I feel inside, perhaps
I should get a hold of the outside.
I will start with a week of cleaning, my home of course
unclutter the closets and shelves, remove the unwanted and
unneeded . I will keep you informed on how that goes.
I will say now that I come from a history wrought with violence,
addictions, abuse and pain. My goal is not to forget that, but to
embrace the lessons in which I learned during those times.
The first "tool" that I will bring forward from the past is a
relaxation technique that was taught to me during a short stay
at a childrens institution, Aptly named Rivendell.
I have read "book 4" By Aleister Crowley, it speaks of Techniques known as Asana and Pratya
I believe this exercise stems from the very lessons Crowley attemps to convey.
I will name this exercise for my usage as the Forgotten sleep.
Forgotten Sleep.
Lie on the floor or a mat with your legs slightly spread and your hands placed about 3 inches from your hips. close you eyes and breathe in deeply. The now imagine that your lungs have
a esophagus through your legs to your feet, Breathe out through your feet. Concentrate as you continue to breathe in through your mouth and out through your feet. You will meet a discomfort here. Your feet will beg to move from their place, they will itch and tingle, but you must keep them in their place. once the sensation of discomfort passes you may move up to your knees and repeat. Some people will find it hard not to fall asleep during this progression,
if you do, it is ok, continue to try to get further up your body everytime you practice the technique.
For those who can make it past the breathing and have come to the neck, lie still and imagine
yourself floating upwards you are no longer on the ground you are now floating above a serene landscape, but do not turn to look at it, imagine yourself rising higher and higher over the terrain, feel yourself there, many feel fear of falling at this point, do not panic continue to breathe and enjoy the heights. When you have overcome fear, turn over in your mind and take in the serene beauty below you. Many now envision a mountain that grows to their feet or
a carpet that brings them safely to the ground, , visualize yourself on the ground, and begin breathing in through your mouth out through your neck, back down to your feet. When you come back to the world, breathe and slowly stretch. You may then end you session.
